Dr. Barron

Dr. James A. “Andy” Barron has changed smiles for many Central Texans since 1991, when he first opened his office in Temple.

Dr. Barron's academic training began at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he attended dental school and later received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He earned his Master of Science in Oral Biology from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. While at the University of Missouri, he also completed postdoctoral specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Barron returned to Texas where he earned a postdoctoral degree in Orthodontics at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston.

In February 2000, Dr. Barron achieved the distinguished status of Board Certified Orthodontist. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Texas Association of Orthodontists. He is currently serving as President of the Central Texas Dental Society.

Drs. Andy and Shawne Barron are very active in their church as well as many local organizations. They share a common goal to help the citizens of Central Texas by offering their time and assistance to many civic and service clubs. They are also very involved with their five children, Beaux, Drew, Daniel, Hannah and Lydia.

Dr. Solomon

Dr. Michael Solomon spent his childhood in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After graduating from high school, he then made his way to Texas to attend The University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with high honors and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. Dr. Solomon then attended the The University of Texas - Houston Dental Branch where he graduated at the top of his class and was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After graduation, Dr. Solomon completed an orthodontic residency at UT – Houston Dental Branch, as well, where he simultaneously earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Masters of Science degree.

Dr. Solomon is committed to excellence in the profession of orthodontics and enhances his skills by regularly participating in numerous orthodontic conferences. He is an active member of several dental and orthodontic professional societies, including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, local dental societies and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Solomon is Board Certified through the American Board of Orthodontics.

In his personal life, Dr. Solomon and his wife, Karen, are proud parents to their three children, Tyler, Emily and Drew. In his free time, Dr. Solomon enjoys spending time with his family as well as multiple outdoor activities such as golfing, fishing, snow skiing and attending UT sporting events.

Dr. Armstrong

Dr. Glen Armstrong received his undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas and his DDS degree at Baylor College of Dentistry before completing his orthodontic residency at the University of Texas. An orthodontist in Pullman, Washington and Moscow, Idaho for over 15 years, Dr. Armstrong is a member of many professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Awards: Dr. Armstrong is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. In addition, he was the first recipient of the Dale B. Wade Award of Clinical Excellence.
Dr. Armstrong has received three Fred Schudy awards for "excellence in the practice of clinical orthodontics."

Personal: Dr. Armstrong is married and the father of two grown sons. He served in the Air Force in Turkey after dental school. His community involvement is demonstrated by his support of many local activities such as 4H, FFA, the Parks and Recreation Sports Program, Booster Club Sports Programs, Junior Miss, theater productions and the Chamber of Commerce. He is also currently on the Board of the Palouse Discovery Science Center. Dr. Armstrong has a special place in his heart for all the Boy Scouts as he is an Eagle Scout, a past Cub Master and Den Leader for the Cub Scouts. He particularly enjoys golfing and fly fishing in his free time.

Many of our staff members and their families have undergone orthodontic treatment, so we really do know "what you are going through". We understand your concerns and your questions.
