Your initial examination will last about one hour. During your visit, you will meet with Connie or Christina, one of our Treatment Coordinators, and Dr. Barron, Dr. Solomon or Dr. Davis. You will be given a tour of our office, where you can observe treatment being performed in the patient treatment area. With your permission, a complimentary panoramic X-ray and photos will be taken that will aid the doctors in diagnosis and assist in determining your individual treatment plan.
During the examination, Dr. Barron, Dr. Solomon or Dr. Davis will determine your occlusion (bite), the relationship between your teeth and skeletal structure, and your overall dental condition. We will then discuss preliminary treatment options and answer any questions that you may have, and Connie or Christina will explain treatment costs and financial details.
We try to ensure that the following topics are discussed during your initial examination:
- Are you or your child a candidate for orthodontic treatment?
- Should treatment begin immediately or be delayed until adult teeth erupt?
- What treatment procedures will be used to make the needed correction?
- Will any teeth need to be extracted?
- What is the length of treatment?
- What will treatment cost?
- What are the financing options?
We know that orthodontic treatment is a major decision. We want to make sure that you are comfortable with your decision and confident in our ability to provide the finest quality care.
